LG Energy Solution begins LFP and NMC BESS and EV cell production at Michigan factory

South Korean battery giant LG Energy Solution (LG ES) has begun production at its lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery cell factory in Lansing, Michigan, US. Announced 18 August, LG Energy Solution Michigan-Lansing manufactures large-format LFP batteries for both battery energy storage systems (BESS) and electric vehicles (EVs).
